This illustration was the result of a half day project in which we had to explore the method of task orientated games through postcards. Our game which we developed as a group involved our 7 favourite films (there were seven of us) and a city wide treasure hunt. Each of us chose a film and created an illustration which represented that film. The game was for the player to collect all seven postcards from around the city centre and not only try to guess the film being represented but also find a letter hidden within the illustration on each card. The seven letters were then to be arranged to spell the title of a film that we all agreed was in our favourites of all time. Can you find my letter?
This project was interesting but our concept was weak and we had barely anytime to develop our ideas and create the postcards we imagined. This was a good lesson in the pressures of deadlines in industry and the very short deadlines which will be set for us. I feel we cold have worked better as a team in order to set the ball rolling and develop a more interesting game and illustrations. Everyone complimented this illustration but I actually don't like it. There is no life in the image.
